Inaasahan na ni Misamis Oriental 2nd district Representative Yevgeny Vincente Emano na magiging ‘all business’ si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa kaniyang pagdalo para sa APEC summit, sa Estados Unidos.
Ang APEC Summit ay gaganapin mula November 15 hanggang 17 at dadaluhan ng world leaders mula sa mga bansang may malalaking ekonomiya gaya ng Japan, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, at Korea.
Ayon kay Emano sa mga foreign trip ng Pangulo, lagi nitong iniisip ang maiuuwing benepisyo para sa mga Pilipino at ekonomiya ng bansa.
Hindi aniya sinasayang ng chief executive ang mga biyaheng ito bagkus ay siya pa aniyang bumubuhay sa ekonomiya natin.
“President Marcos’ track record in these foreign trips shows that he always seeks to bring home not just the bacon, but the entire lechon baboy. He always has the Philippine economy and the livelihood of Filipinos on his mind. Laging nakapag-uuwi ng malakihang investment pledges and business deals ang ating mahal na Pangulo.” sabi ni Emano
Sabi pa ni Emano, na tiyak na magse-‘salesman’ mode ang Pangulo sa APEC para ibida ang 5.9% GDP growth ng Pilipinas at ibenta ang Maharlika Investment Fund sa potential investors.
“President Marcos will attend the APEC riding the country’s 5.9 percent GDP growth rate for the third quarter, which is higher than Vietnam’s (5.3 percent), Indonesia’s (4.9 percent), China ‘(4.9 percent), and Malaysia’s (3.3 percent). This already puts him in the limelight and he will surely capitalize on this,” ani Emano
“I also expect him to go on salesman mode regarding the MIF, which is looking better than ever with its revised implementing rules and regulations (IRR). The Philippine sovereign wealth fund has now been the product of nearly a year’s worth of tweaking, and I believe this will give foreign investors all the more confidence to invest in the MIF,” dagdag pa ng mambabatas | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
