AFP at US Indopacific Command, nagsagawa ng maritime cooperative activity sa West Philippine Sea

Nagsagawa ng Joint Maritime Cooperative Activity (MCA) ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) simula kahapon hanggang November 23.

Ayon kay AFP Public Affairs Office Chief Colonel Xerxes Trinidad, ang sabayang aktibidad ay nilahukan ng tatlong barko ng Philippine Navy, dalawang FA 50 Fighter jets, at isang A-29B Super Tucano aircraft ng Philippine Air Force; kasama ang isang Littoral Combat Ship at isang P8-A aircraft ng Estados Unidos.

Layon ng aktibidad na mapahusay ang interoperability at kooperasyon sa pagitan ng dalawang magkaalyadong pwersa. 

Nagsimula ang aktibidad sa Batanes at magtatapos sa West Philippine Sea, bilang bahagi ng pagsulong ng rules-based international order.

Ito ay para ipakita ang commitment ng AFP at USINDOPACOM sa isang malaya at bukas na Indo-Pacific Region.  | ulat ni Leo Sarne
