DOH, PhilHealth, pinakikilos para tulungan ang mga umuwing OFW mula Gaza, West Bank, at Lebanon na maka-recover mula sa war trauma

Nanawagan si BHW Party-list Representative Angelica Natasha Co sa Department of Health (DOH) at Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) na magbigay ng libreng mental health service para sa mga umuwing Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) mula Gaza, West Bank at Lebanon.

Aniya, mahalaga na mabigyan sila ng counselling upang maka-recover mula sa posibleng trauma dulot ng gulo sa pinanggalingang lugar.

“While we commend the OWWA and DSWD for what they have so far done for the repatriates, we believe the DOH and PhilHealth should also get involved to make sure the OFWs from the armed conflict zones get frequent psychiatric counseling for one to two years to ensure their proper recovery from the traumas of war,” ayon sa mambabatas.

Malaking tulong na aniya ang libreng access sa mental health service lalo at nahinto o nawalan din sila ng mga trabaho.

“We also ask the Philippine General Hospital, the DOH Regional Medical Centers, and the Philippine Mental Health Association to help provide free mental health services to the repatriates who are also in financial distress because they lost their jobs,” sabi pa ni Co

November 10 nang dumating sa bansa ang unang batch ng mga Pilipino mula Gaza.
