House panel inaprubahan ang Substitute Bill para paghusayin ang coffee industry ng bansa

Inaprubahan ng House Committee on Agriculture and Food and  Agriculture ang Substitute Bill na naglalayong itatag ang pambansang  programa para sa development ng Philippine Coffee Industry.

Layon din ng batas na bumuo ng coffee council at mapondohan ang kinakailangan para sa naturang hakbang.

Ayon kay Committee Chair at Quezon Representative Wilfrido Mark Enverga ang panukalang batas ay alinsunod sa atas ni Speaker Martin  Romualdez na agarang pagpasa ng hakbang bago matapos ang taon bilang suporta sa mga coffee farmers, traders, procesors, consumers, at industry partners.

Sa ginawang pagtalakay ng komite, nagpahayag ng pagsuporta ang mga resource person mula sa gobyerno at private sector para sa industriya ng kape.

Layon din ng Substitute Bill na  pagtibayin ang  Philippine Coffee Industry Roadmap 2021 – 2025 na magsisilbing panuntunan upang maging sustainable at globally competitive ang industriya.

Napagkasunduan din ng miyembro ng komite na maglaan ng ₱500-million na initial funding para sa pagpapatupad ng hakbang sakaling tuluyang maging batas.  | ulat ni Melany Valdoz Reyes
