The Embassy of Malaysia in Manila headed by its Ambassador His Excellency Datu Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino celebrated Deepavali and Christmas at the Ambassador’s Residence in Makati City.
Malaysian, Filipino and Chinese communities together with the embassy’s visitors were gathered for a feast of the celebration. Which Ambassador Abdul Malik pin the importance of oneness in the occasion, “In our society, we respect and celebrate all religion and events.”
Children of the embassy employers received Certificate of Recognition being a partner of the Malaysia community in the country. At the same time, the embassy gathered its friends and partners and showered gifts to small children to enjoy the spirit of Deepavali and an advance Christmas get together in one. On the same day, the Embassy, in collaboration with Chinese General Hospital & Medical Center, had a blood donation drive for a good cause.
Visitors to the said celebration took part in blood letting as they believe that they want to have a better and healthy community for the Philippines.
Another highlight also of the activity is the unveiling of art donation, an Initiative of the Philippine Navy, created by globally renowned missionary visual artist and Philippine Navy Reservist Goodwill Ambassador for Culture and Arts, CMO2 Kristine Ann Soguilon Lim PN (Res) entitled, “BRIDGING HORIZONS: Naval Cultural Exchange Thru Arts” that aims to strengthen the bond to personalities such as the diplomats. Philippine Navy believed its dedication to connecting communities through cultural and artistic exchange to share the rich cultural identity of Filipinos.
The Deepavali term is from the Sanskrit word which means “row of lights”. It is known for the brightly burning clay lamps that people put outside their homes during the holiday and is the most important festival of the year in India.| via Princess Habiba Sarip-Paudac
