Nakikita ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na magiging bahagi na ang nuclear energy bilang energy source pagdating ng 2032.

Ito ang sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. kasunod ng ginawang lagdaan ng civil nuclear cooperation agreement na kilala din bilang “123 Agreement” sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at ng US.

Ayon Kay Pangulong Marcos Jr., oportunidad na rin ang nasabing agreement para sa US companies na makapag-invest at makilahok sa ikakasang nuclear power projects ng bansa.

Binanggit din ng Pangulo na sa kanyang unang State of the Nation Address ay nais niyang magkaroon ng abot-kaya, at sustainable energy supply para sa bansa ng sa gayon ay matugunan ang tumataas na energy demand.

Kaya nag-utos aniya siya na magkaroon ng re-evaluation sa posiblidad na makalikha ng ligtas na nuclear energy sa bansa. | ulat ni Alvin Baltazar
