Itinuturing ng Department of National Defense (DND) na “complimentary” at hindi “counter-productive” ang naging pasya ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na bigyang amnestiya ang mga dating rebelde.

Ito ang pahayag ni Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro makaraang pangunahan nito ang ika-84 na anibersaryo ng Department of National Defense (DND) ngayong araw.

Giit ng kalihim, pagtupad lamang ito ni Pangulong Marcos sa kaniyang naging pangako noong ikalawang State of the Nation Address o SONA na layuning pagkaisahin ang bansa.

Ipinaliwanag pa ni Teodoro na ang pagbibigay amnestiya sa mga rebelde ay makatutulong upang magbalik-loob na sa pamahalaan ang mas maraming rebelde na natatakot sumuko dahil may kinahaharap na mandamiyento de aresto.
