Pagdami ng barko ng China sa Ayungin Shoal, ‘di makakapigil sa resupply mission ng AFP sa BRP Sierra Madre – SFP Spox

Walang sinumang makakapigil sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa pagsasagawa ng Rotation and Resupply (RoRe) Mission sa BRP Sierra Madre sa Ayungin Shoal.

Ito ang inihayag ni AFP Spokesperson Colonel Medel Aguilar kaugnay ng napaulat na pagdami ng mga barko ng China sa paligid ng Ayungin Shoal, kasunod ng huling matagumpay na resupply mission sa BRP Sierra Madre.

Giit ni Col. Aguilar, lehitimo ang regular na resupply mission sa BRP Sierra Madre dahil may mga tauhan ang AFP na naka-istasyon doon na kailangang suplayan, at kung napapadalas man ang resupply mission, walang pakialam ang ibang mga bansa sa anuman ang gawin ng AFP sa teritoryo ng bansa.

Bukod aniya sa pag-ehersisyo ng sovereign rights at hurisdiksyon sa lugar, ang mga aksyon ng AFP sa Ayungin Shoal ay bilang pagtataguyod ng rules based international order, kung saan tumutupad ang AFP sa United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

Ayon pa kay Aguilar, may mga mekanismo na itinatakda ang international convention sa pagresolba ng mga “dispute” sa karagatan, at hindi ito sa pamamagitan ng paggamit ng water cannon tulad ng ginawa ng Chinese Coast Guard. | ulat ni Leo Sarne
