Inatasan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang First Scout Ranger Regiment (FSRR) ng Philippine Army (PA) na bigyang prayoridad ang kapabilidad nito at tugunan ang mga usapin sa pagsusulong ng pangmatagalang kapayapaan sa Pilipinas.
“So, as we celebrate your achievements, let us also address a pressing national concern: the pursuit of lasting peace,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Sa ika-73 Founding Anniversary ng FSRR sa San Miguel, Bulacan, kinilala ng Pangulo ang malaking papel sa pagharap sa internal security threats at pagsisiguro sa kaligtasan ng Pilipinas.
“The specialized skills in warfare, counterterrorism, and special make you indispensable to our nation’s security. So, as we bolster our external defense, it is crucial to prioritize capabilities that will significantly contribute to our credible defense posture,” ani Pangulong Marcos.
Kaugnay nito, hinikayat rin ng Pangulo ang Department of National Defense (DND), na reviewhin ang Scout Rangers’ capability requirements, at tangkilikin ang mga opsyon na magpapalakas sa operational capabilities and effectiveness ng mga ito, upang maabot ng bansa ang defense objectives nito.
Pagbibigay diin ng Pangulo, makatutulong ang Scout Ranger sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), lalo na kung mapagkakalooban ito ng kinakailangang resources.
“I enjoin the Scout Rangers to continue to exemplify bravery, dedication, excellence, professionalism, courage in your mission of safeguarding and developing our nation,” saad ni Pangulong Marcos.
Kaugnay nito, ipinunto rin ng Pangulo ang pagbababa ng Executive Order No. 47 na mahalagang hakbang aniya tungo sa national healing at peacebuilding.
“Our commitment to reconciliation and unity, reflected in the amnesty proclamation, aligns directly with the Scout Ranger mission. By providing a path for former rebels to return to the fold of the law, the national amnesty program contributes to the overall stability and unity in our country,” ani Pangulong Marcos. | ulat ni Racquel Bayan
