Pagtatag ng Dangerous Drug Court sa lahat ng siyudad, ipinapanukala sa Kamara

Itinutulak ni Surigao del Norte Representative Robert Ace Barbers ang pagtatag ng a “Dangerous Drugs Court” sa lahat ng siyudad at probinsya sa buong bansa.

Ito ay para mapabilis ang paglilitis sa may 300,000 na drug cases na nakabinbin sa iba’t ibang korte.

Tinukoy ng chairperson ng House Committee on Dangerous Drugs, ang datos ng Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency (PDEA), na mula 2000 hanggang 2022 umabot sa 405,062 ang drug cases na inihain sa korte.

Pero 28 percent lang sa mga ito ang naresolba at nadesisyunan.

“Out of this figure, only 28 percent or 114,610 cases have been resolved or have been handed decision by the judiciary. This means there are about 300,000 drug cases or approximately 72 percent have remained pending in courts as we speak,” ani Barbers.

Sa kaniyang House Bill 9446, inaasahan na made-decongest at mapapabilis ang pagresolba sa mga libo-libong drug cases na nakabinbin ngayon sa iba’t ibang korte sa buong bansa.

Sa paraang ito ay mapuputol na rin, aniya, ang iligal na gawain ng mga “ninja cops” dahil agaran nang susunugin o sisirain ang lahat ng mga nakukumpiskang ipinagbabawal na gamot.

Matatandaan na sa nakaraang pagdinig ng kaniya komite, inamin ng PDEA at PNP na mayroong pang 8,662 kilos ng shabu at 4,233 kilos ng marijuana ang hindi pa nasisira dahil sa wala pang court order. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
