Pasay 360 reclamation project, pasado sa environmental assessment ng independent assessor; naturang proyekto, hindi magpapalala ng pagbaha

Siniguro ng Pasay City government at joint venture nito na pasado sa environmental assessment ang ginagawang reclamation project na Pasay 360.

Ito’y matapos ihayag ni Nueva Ecija Rep. Ria Vergara ang pagkabahala sa environmental impact ng mga reclamation project sa Manila Bay kung saan sakop din ang Pasay City.

Punto ni Vergara ngayong may climate change na at mas malakas ang mga bagyo ay posibleng magdulot lamang ito ng pag baha lalo at catch basin ang Manila Bay.

Ayon kay Glenn Ang, pangulo ng SM Smart City Infrastructure and Development Corporation, na kabahaging joint venture para sa proyekto, suportado aniya ng iba’t ibang pag-aaral ang naturang reclamation peoject.

“We’d like to assure the honorable Congressman Vergara that all of the studies have been prepared, everything….the DENR is working now [on] the cumulative impact of all of the other reclamations it built altogether. And we’re very much open to all of these,” sabi ni Ang.

Dagdag naman ni Pasay City Administrator Peter Manzano. Nakakuha ang Pasay 360 ng clearances mula sa 20 ahensya.

Pasado rin aniya ito sa ginawang quarterly environmental monitoring ng multi-agency at multi-sectoral independent body o MMT. Pinawi rin ni Manzano ang pangamba na magdudulot ito ng pagbaha.

Idinesenyo aniya ang reclamation project na may 4 meter elevation, matibay na seawalls at wala ring blockage sa waterways. Katunayan, magsisilbi pa nga aniya itong proteksy9n ng mainland mula sa storm surges o tsunami. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
