Isinusulong ng Pilipinas sa 31st Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum na maging permanenteng kabahagi ng pulong ang youth parliamentarians..
Isa ito sa mga resolusyong inihain ng Pilipinas sa pangunguna ni Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio Gonzales Jr.
Sa talumpati ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez sa inaugural ceremony ng APPF, binigyang diin nito ang mahalagang papel ng mga kabataan sa nagbabagong panahon.
Kaya naman aniya panahon nang baguhin ang APPF rules at maisama ang youth parliamentarians sa kanilang mga pulong.
“We must recognize and amplify the voices of this vibrant generation, providing them with the platforms, mentorship, and support they need to thrive as leaders and change-makers. By doing so, we not only ensure a more inclusive and diverse representation within our parliamentary bodies but also foster an environment that is conducive to innovation, progress, and positive transformation. In this regard, it is crucial that we adapt and embrace these new perspectives. The Philippine delegation proposes to amend the APPF Rules of Procedure to formally includ young parliamentarians in our annual meetings. We enjoin all embers to formally adopt this proposal to incorporate the Roundtable Discussion of young parliamentarians as a permanent part of the APPF.” sabi ni Romualdez.
Maliban dito isinusulong din ng Pilipinas na magkaroon ng permanent secretariat ang APPF. Ito aniya ay para sa sentralisadong organisasyon ng mga resolusyon at kasunduang pinagtibay sa pulong.
“While it is laudable that we have all come this far with the current set-up after 30 years, the creation of a permanent Secretariat for the APPF will promote more effective and efficient management and organization of programs and activities, and better facilitate the achievement of the APPF’s common goals in the region.” dagdag ng House Speaker.
Handa rin aniya ang Pilipinas na maging headquarters ng secretariat, o kahit pansamantala lamang hanggang sa makapag-desisyon ang APPF parliament members.
“In this regard, the Philippines proposes such establishment of a permanent Secretariat for the APPF. Moreover, the Philippines is humbly volunteering itself, for your consideration, to serve as the headquarters for the APPF Secretariat, at least in the interim, until the APPF member parliaments formally decide on its establishment.” saad sa talumpati ni Romualdez. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
