Matagumpay na nagtapos ang Joint Maritime Cooperative Activity sa pagitan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines at Australian Defense Force kahapon.

Ayon kay AFP Chief General Romeo Brawner Jr., nakamit ang lahat ng layunin ng pagsasanay na walang naitalang untoward incident.

Ang 3-araw na ehersisyo sa loob ng Exclusive Economic Zone ng bansa ay nilahukan ng BRP Gregorio del Pilar at BRP Davao Del Sur ng Philippine Navy at Royal Australian Navy frigate HMAS Toowoomba.

Kasama din ang A29B Super Tucano at N-22 Nomad ng Philippine Air Force; BNI2A aircraft ng Philippine Navy; at Royal Australian Air Force P-8A Maritime Surveillance Aircraft.

Sinabi ni General Brawner na magpapatuloy ang mga joint patrol sa West Philippine Sea kasama ang mga kaalyadong bansa.

Mayroon din aniyang mga iba pang bansa na nagpahayag ng pagnanais na makilahok sa kahalintulad na aktibidad sa hinaharap.  | ulat ni Leo Sarne
