Inihayag ni Speaker Martin Romualdez ang maigting nitong suporta sa inisyatibang pangkapayapaan na sinimulan ni dating Pang. Rodrigo Duterte at ipinagpatuloy ni Pang. Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. para sa pagkamit ng pambansang kaunlaran.
Kasunod ito ng inilabas na Executive Order No. 47 na nag-aamyenda sa Exectuive Order 125 noong 2021 na lumulikha sa National Amnesty Commission.
Sa pamamagitan nito ay maa-update ang tungkulin ng NAC upang mabigyang ng amenstiya ang mga dating rebelde.
“True progress blooms in the gardens of peace. The amnesty programs initiated by President Duterte and zealously continued by President Marcos are not just acts of reconciliation but pivotal steps towards the Philippines’ economic and social flourishing. As we bridge divides, we pave the way for prosperity,” sabi ni Romualdez.
Kinilala ng House leader ang makasaysayang hakbang ng Duterte administration, para bigyang amnestiya ang mga dating miyembro ng iba’t ibang rebeldeng grupo na ngayon ay ipinagpatuloy ng Marcos Jr. administration.
Punto pa ni Speaker Romualdez na ang kapayapaan ay hindi nasusukat sa kawalan ng sigalot ngunit sa presensya rin ng hustisya at inclusivity.
“Peace is the bedrock upon which we build a nation’s dreams. It is not merely the absence of conflict but the presence of justice and inclusivity. By integrating former rebels back into the societal fabric, we are weaving a stronger, more resilient Philippines,” diin ni Speaker Romualdez.
Bilang patotoo sa pagsuporta ay handa aniya ang Kamara na makipag-ugnayan sa ehekutibo kung paano makapaglatag ng mga programa para sa reintegration ng mga dating rebelde at mabigyang oportunidad silang maging produktibong kabahagi ng lipunan.
