Mas mahalagang tutukan muna ang kasalukuyang hamon at isyung kinakaharap ng bansa kaysa sa usapin ng 2028 elections.
Ito ang tugon ni Speaker Martin Romualdez sa pahayag ni dating Pang. Rodrigo Duterte na may balak mag-presidente si Romualdez sa 2028.
Ayon sa House Speaker, bagama’t welcome ang pakikibahagi ng dating Pangulo sa political discourse, mas importante na tugunan ang economic, public health, at regional issues na kailangan ng atensyon ngayon.
“Marami pang problema ang mga Pilipino na kailangang bigyan ng solusyon. Hindi eleksyon ang sagot sa sikmurang gutom. As Speaker of the House of Representatives, my priority is to promote unity and collaboration across all political lines. This is a time to put aside rumors and speculations about future elections and concentrate on what we can achieve together for the betterment of our country and the welfare of the Filipino people.” ani Romualdez.
Mas nakatuon din aniya sya ngayon sa kaniyang responsibilidad bilang Speaker at hindi sa anomang hakbang sa politika sa susunod na panahon.
“Regarding my personal political aspirations, I am currently committed to my role as Speaker and serving the needs of our nation. My focus is on the present responsibilities and not on future electoral possibilities.” dagdag ng House Speaker.
Kinikilala naman ni Romualdez ang mahalagang kontribusyon ng dating Pang. Duterte kasabay ng kaniyang patuloy na pagbibigay ng suporta at payo.
