Itinalaga ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. si Sonia Bautista Malaluan bilang bagong administrator ng Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA).
Papalitan nito ang nagbitiw sa pwesto na si Hernani Fabia.
Ayon kay Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil, hanga ang Pangulo sa pinagdaanang pagsasanay ni Malaluan at sa karanasan nito sa economics, teknolohiya, finance, law, management, public utility, at iba pang aspeto ng maritime industry.
Bago ang appointment na ito bilang MARINA Chief, naitalaga na rin si Malaluan, bilang Deputy Administrator for Planning ng MARINA noong ika-23 ng Nobyembre 2022.
“She also served as Director II from May 2014 to November 2022; Maritime Attaché to London in 2018; Chief Accountant from December 2001 to April 2014; and Chief Transportation Development Officer from February to December 2001.” —Secretary Garafil.
Si Malaluan ay isang Certified Public Accountant.
