Nanawagan si Basilan Rep. Mujiv Hataman na maimbestigahan ng Kamara ang napaulat na dayaan, pananakot at iba pang iregularidad noong nakalipas na Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
Sa ng mambabatas, ipinunto nito hindi maaaring balewalain na lang naturang mga alegasyon na palagian nang problema tuwing eleksyon.
“The allegations of fraud, anomalies and election irregularities have become perennial issues every election, and the low rate of prosecution, either criminal or administrative, of election offenses as well as the low rate of conviction emboldens people to commit illegal acts,” sabi sa HR 1497.
Kabilang aniya dito ang mga ulat na may mga election officers ng Commission on Elections (COMELEC) at mismong miyembro ng security forces ang sangkot sa mga iligal na aktibidad noong nakaraang BSKE.
Aniya, kung hindi masosolusyunan ang mga ito ay madi-displace ang mga botante at masasabing may failure of election.
Halaga aniya na masolusyunan ang naturang mga isyu lalo at nalalapit na nag 2025 mid-term elections.
“With the nearing 2025 national and local elections, as well as the next 2025 barangay elections just around the corner, there is a need to investigate these allegations of electoral malpractices to prevent their recurrence by crafting new legislation, or amending and strengthening existing ones, as may be necessary,” saad niya sa resolusyon.| ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
