Nagpasaklolo sa Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ang iba’t ibang samahan sa industriya ng pelikulang Pilipino.

Ito’y para pakiusapan ang mga lokal na pamahalaan na magpatupad ng tatlong taong “tax holiday” para sa lokal na industriya ng pelikula sa bansa.

Sa isang pulong balitaan sa Kampo Crame ngayong hapon, sinabi ni DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos, na layon ng naturang panukala na matulungan ang industriya ng pelikulang Pilipino na bumangon mula sa epekto ng COVID-19 pandemic.

Nagpasalamat naman si Film Development Council of the Philippines President Tirso Cruz III sa DILG sa pakikinig sa kanilang hinaing lalo’t naniniwala siyang malaki ang maiaambag ng pelikulang Pilipino sa pagpapalago ng ekonomiya.

Ayon pa kay Abalos, nauunawaan niya ang hirap ng mga nasa industriya ng pelikulang Pilipino dahil bukod sa malaking gastos sa produksyon ay nadaragdagan pa ito ng bayad sa iba’t ibang permit.

Bukod pa ito sa 10 percent amusement tax na binabayaran sa mga lokal na pamahalaan, at dagdagan pa ng pamimirata na siyang lalong nakadaragdag sa paghihirap ng mga gumagawa ng pelikula. | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
