Nanawagan na rin si Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers sa Department of Education (DepEd) na bumalik sa dating school calendar na June to March para sa school year 2025.
Punto ng mambabatas, malaking tulong sa pagpapalakas ng turismo ng bansa kung maibabalik ang summer vacation ng mga bata.
“With summer vacation returning, our domestic tourism will have a most needed boost as families can again enjoy going on vacations around the country, a tradition that was lost when the school calendar was changed years ago. This will greatly contribute to the recovery of the local economy”, diin ni Barbers.
Makatutulong din aniya ang mga mag-aaral sa panahon ng ani kung makakabalik sa dating school calendar.
Maliban dito, mas makakalaro na rin aniya ang mga bata sa labas sa kanilang bakasyon, bagay na nawala dahil sa bagong school calendar natapat ang bakasyon sa panahon ng tag-ulan.
“Children can enjoy playing outside once again, something they lost when the break fell during the rainy season. Playing is vital in the social formation of the children. It is not a trivial matter, and we know that VP Sara fully understand. Let us all hope that she will make the right decision in restoring our culture and traditions”, dagdag ng kinatawan.
Tiwala naman si Barbers na pakikinggan at ikokonsidera ito ni Vice President Sara Duterte na siya ring kalihim ng DepEd.
“VP Sara is the right person at this particularly difficult and trying times in our education system. She has the political will and a deep understanding of the needs of our students. I am confident she will heed the call. The return to the old calendar is a huge leap forward for our students, parents and teachers.
