Inaprubahan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang rekomendasyon ni Transport Secretary Jaime Bautista na bigyan pa ng karagdagang tatlong buwan ang operators at drivers ng public utility vehicles (PUVs) para sa franchise consolidation application.
“President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has approved Transport Secretary Jaime J. Bautista’s recommendation, granting an additional three months until April 30, 2024 for the consolidation of public utility vehicles.” —Secretary Garafil.
Kaugnay pa rin ito sa PUV Modernization program ng pamahalaan.
Ayon kay Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cheloy Velicaria – Garafil, tatagal ang palugit hanggang April 30, 2024.
Paglilinaw naman ng kalihim, ang pagpapalawig na ito ay para lamang sa transport cooperatives na una nang nagpahayag na nais mag-consolidate, ngunit hindi nakaabot sa itinakdang deadline ng pamahalaan.
