Naging produktibo ang bilateral meeting sa pagitan nina Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at Indonesian President Joko Widodo sa Malacañang ngayong araw (January 10).
“As immediate neighbors and fellow archipelagic states, the Philippines and Indonesia agreed to continue our cooperation on political and security matters, noting the recently concluded Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) headed by our respected foreign ministers.” —Pangulong Marcos Jr.
Nalagdaan ang memorandum of understanding (MOU) para sa kooperasyon ng dalawang bansa, tungo sa pagkakaroon ng energy security.
“Our Ministries have worked hard and today we saw one of these works bear fruit as we witnessed the signing of the MOU on the Cooperation in the Field of Energy. Through this MOU, our countries create a new synergy as we cooperate to achieve energy security.” —Pangulong Marcos
Sa ilalim ng MOU, nagkasundo ang Philippines at Indonesia na pangasiwaan ang kooperasyon ng mga business sector nito sa linya ng enerhiya, partikular sa mga panahon na may critical supply constraints sa energy commodities, tulad ng coal, at liquified natural gas (LNG).
Ayon kay Pangulong Marcos, mayroon pang isang MOU sa linya naman ng science and technology ang malapit na sa completion phase.
Sabi ng Pangulo, ngayong magdiriwang ang Pilipinas at Indonesa ng ika-75 anibersaryo ng diplomatic relation, naging magaan o natural lamang ang usapan nila ng Indonesian President tungo sa pagpapalalalim at pagpapatatag pa ng baliaktan ng Pilipinas at Indonesia.
