Maaaring lumipat sa mga pribadong paaralan ang mga estudyante na maaapektuhan ng pagpapahinto ng Senior High School (SHS) programs sa mga state universities and colleges (SUCs) at local universities and colleges (LUCs).
Ayon kay Makati City Representative Luis Campos Jr., vice chairperson ng House Committee on Appropriations, mayroong ₱27.8-billion na tuition subsidy sa 2024 National Budget para sa mga disadvantaged Grades 11 at 12 students na naka-enroll sa private secondary schools o unibersidad at mga kolehiyo na may SHS program.
“Assuming SHS students currently enrolled in SUCs cannot be accommodated in DepEd schools in their communities, they can enroll in private schools and the SHSVP can pay for their tuition,” ani Campos.
Sa ilalim ng SHS Voucher Program (SHSVP) bibigyan ng tuition grant ang mga kwalipikadong Grade 10 students na tutukuyin ng Department of Education (DepEd) para makapasok sa Grades 11 at 12 sa mga pribadong eskuwelahan.
Matatandaan na inilabas ng Commission on Higher Education (CHED) ang isang kautusan na nagsasabing wala nang awtorisasyon ang mga SUCs na mag-offer ng SHS program dahil wala na silang legal authority at funding.
