Problema sa kuryente sa Palawan, pinaiimbestigahan sa Kamara

Pinangunahan ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez kasama sina Palawan Representatives Jose Alvarez at Edgardo Salvame sa paghahain ng resolusyon para paimbestigahan ang power crisis sa Palawan.

Sa House Resolutiom 1544, inaatasan ang House Committee on Energy na magsagawa ng investigation in aid of legislation para siyasatin ang sitwasyon ng Palawan Electric Cooperative (PALECO) kasama na ang mataas na singil sa kuryente at ang madalas na power interruption

“It has always been the responsibility of the State to provide the people with reliable, secure, and affordable power sources. And what is happening in Palawan involving high power rates, low energization levels and inefficient power distribution, Congress needs to intervene,” sabi ni Romualdez.

Punto ng House Speaker, ang sitwasyon sa Palawan ay nakakabalam sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na mapailawan ang buong bansa pagsapit ng 2025 ng hanggang 95%.

Nagsimulang tumaas ang singil sa kuryente ng PALECO Nobyembre noong nakaraang taon nang pumasok sa Emergency Power Supply Agreement (EPSA) sa Delta P, Inc. at nakatakdang magtapos ngayong Oktubre.

Ayon kasi sa Department of Energy (DOE) ang EPSA sa pagitan ng PALECO at Delta ay hindi maaaring i-subsidize.

Ito ang nga bagay na nais malinawan sa pagdinig.

“What is important is we address all matters at the soonest possible time to unburden Palaweños of the power woes of PALECO. Hindi po nila ito kasalanan pero sila po ang nagdudusa sa malaking binabayaran sa kuryente,” sabi pa ng House Speaker.

Nangako naman si Speaker Romualdez na hahanapan ng Kongreso ng paraan na matulungan ang PALECO upang magkaroon ng agaran at pangmatagalang solusyon sa kuryente at enerhiya para sa bawat Palaweño. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
