Nagpahayag ng suporta ang Philippine Navy sa isinusulong na imbestigasyon ng Senado sa umano’y “cyanide fishing“ na ginagawa ng mga mangingisdang Chinese sa Bajo de Masinloc.
Ayon kay Philippine Navy Spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea Commodore Roy Vincent Trinidad, bahagi ng kanilang mandato ang pangangalaga sa likas yaman ng bansa.
Pero sa ngayon aniya, ay hindi pa nila masabi kung maituturing na “environmental terrorism” ang napaulat na paggamit ng mga dayuhang mangingisda ng cyanide sa pangingisda.
Sa panig aniya ng Philippine Navy, tatalima sila sa rules of engagement at makikipag-ugnayan sa mga ahensya ng pamahalaan para sa imbestigasyon.
Bukod sa imbestigasyon na tinutulak ng Senado, nagtalaga na rin ang Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) ng legal at technical team para alamin ang katotohanan sa cyanide fishing sa Bajo de Masinloc. | ulat ni Leo Sarne
