Sen. Villanueva, pinasisiguro ang maayos at buong pagbibigay ng back wages sa OFWs na nawalan ng trabaho sa Saudi Arabia

Pinatitiyak ni Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva sa Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) na maibibigay ng 100 porsiyento ang back wages ng overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) na nawalan ng trabaho dahil sa mga nabangkaroteng kumpanya sa Saudi Arabia.

Ito ay kasunod ng impormasyon na unti-unti nang naibibigay sa ilang mga displaced OFW ang kanilang back wages.

Pinaalala ni Villanueva, na 10 years in the making na ang pagsingil sa back wages at nabigyan lang ng agarang aksyon matapos magkausap sina Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman noong November 2022.

Kaugnay nito, hinikayat ng senador ang DMW at iba pang ahensya ng gobyerno na palaging makipag-ugnayan sa gobyerno ng Saudi para sa agarang pagre-release ng back wages at benepisyo ng apektadong OFWs.

Dapat din aniyang patuloy na tulungan ng DMW ang mga OFW kaugnay sa kanilang mga dokumento at iba pang requirements. | ulat ni Nimfa Asuncion
