Nagpaabot ng pasasalamat ai House Speaker Martin Romualdez sa international community kasama dito ang Indian Navy sa pagliligtas sa nalalabing sakay ng barko na tinamaan ng missile attack ng Houthi rebels sa Gulf of Aden.
Kabilang dito ang sampung tripulanteng Pilipino na ngayon ay nasa ligtas nang kalagayan.
Aniya, kapuri-puri ang ipinakitang dedikasyon ng mga awtoridad para mailigtas ang mga sakay ng barko kasama ang ating Filipino seafarers.
“We have received heartening news that all ten of our Filipino seafarers aboard the vessel struck in the Gulf of Aden are now safe. This update brings immense relief not only to their families but to our nation as a whole, as we have been anxiously following the developments of this distressing incid,ent.” sabi ni Speaker Romualdez.
“I wish to express my profound gratitude to the international community, including the Indian Navy and the authorities in Djibouti, for their prompt and decisive actions that led to the safety of our kababayans. Their dedication and cooperation have been instrumental in securing the well-being of our seafarers, and for this, we are immensely thankful,” dagdag niya.
Kinilala din ni Romualdez si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), at Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) sa kanilang kagyat na pagtugon sa insidente at sa mabilis na pagpapaabot ng tulong sa mga Pilipinong marino at kanilang pamilya.
Kasabay nito ipinaabot din ng House leader ang papuri sa katapangang ipinakita ng mga seafarers.
Patuloy din aniya ang pagluluksa ng bansa sa dalawa nilang kasamahan na nasawi dahil sa insidente.
“To our brave seafarers, your safety is of utmost importance to us. We are deeply relieved that you are out of harm’s way and are now secure. The courage and strength you have shown in the face of danger are truly admirable, and you embody the resilient spirit of the Filipino people,” wika pa ng House Speaker.
Pagsiguro din nito na patuloy na isusulong ng pamahalaan ang kapakanan ng mga overseas Filipino workers san mang panig ng mundo sila nagta-trabaho.
“We will continue to work tirelessly to protect their rights, promote their well-being, and ensure that they are provided with the support and protection they deserve, wherever they may be in the world,” pagtatapos ni Romualdez.| ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
