Pinasalamatan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. si outgoing Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Kazuhiko Koshikawa, para sa bagong yugto na pinasok ng Pilipinas at Japan, sa ilalim ng tour of duty nito.
Sa Farewell Call ng embahador sa Malacañang ngayong araw, sinabi ng Pangulo na umangat pa ang lebel ng Philippine-Japan relations, partikular sa linya ng defense at security, trade at investment, infrastructure development, maging ang pagsusulong ng kapayapaan sa Mindanao.
“It used to be just economic and trade, but in terms of security and defense, also that, and I’m glad that you mentioned the assistance that the Japanese, that Japan, rather, has given to the BARMM. It’s very – it is been very critical because as the elections come, it will be the first parliamentary election,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Partikular ring binanggit ng Pangulo ang pag-uusap sa pagitan ng Pilipinas, Japan, at Estados Unidos.
“On the security side… much has been achieved. We are now talking about the, between the United States, Japan and the Philippines, and I think that’s proceeding very well,” ani Pangulong Marcos.
Muli ring kinilala ng Pangulo ang kontribusyon ng Japan, hindi lamang sa imprastruktura, maging sa pagpapaigting ng agri-sector ng Pilipinas.
Sa panig naman ng Japanese ambassador, siniguro nito na magkatulad ang objective ng Pilipinas at Japan.
“And, furthermore, maintaining a maritime order based on the rule of law is the most important common objectives of most countries,” pahayag ni Ambassador Koshikawa.
At mananatili ang suporta ng kanilang bansa, sa peace process sa Mindanao.
“Japan… will continue to support Mindanao peace process in particular.. in the election scheduled next year. In this context, I think, the Japanese government is ready to consider the assistance necessary for the implementation of the election laws,” dagdag pa ni Ambassador Koshikawa. | ulat ni Racquel Bayan
