Bilang ng OFWs sa Taiwan na nasugatan sa tumamang magnitude 7.2 na lindol, nadagdagan pa – DMW

Umabot na sa 15 ang bilang ng overseas Filipino worker (OFWs) ang naitalang nasugatan matapos ang tumamang magnitude 7.2 na lindol sa Taiwan, noong nakaraang linggo.

Ito ay batay sa pinakahuling datos ng Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).

Ayon sa DMW, ang lahat ng 15 OFW ay nabigyan na ng paunang lunas at nakalabas na rin sa ospital. Sila ay kasalukuyang nagpapagaling sa mga dormitoryo o accommodation ng kanilang mga kumpanya, at nakatakda na rin ang kanilang mga follow-up check-up.

Mahigpit din na mino-monitor ngayon ng Migrant Workers Office (MWO) sa Taipei ang kondisyon ng mga Pilipino na nasaktan, at patuloy na nakikipag-ugnayan sa kanilang mga kumpanya.

Nakikipagtulungan din ang mga MWO sa Kaohsiung at Taichung sa Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) para mabantayan ang sitwasyon ng mga apektadong Pilipino, at mabigyan sila ng kinakailangang tulong.

Samantala, patuloy ang pagbibigay ng tulong sa mga Filipino community sa Taiwan ng six-member team na idineploy ng DMW sa nasabing bansa noong Lunes.

Ito ay pinangungunahan ni Migrant Workers Undersecretary Patricia Yvonne Caunan.

Kabilang sa mga tulong na ibinibigay ng grupo ang psychosocial support at food packs para sa mga apektadong OFW gayundin ang pamamahagi ng P30,000 tulong pinansyal para sa mga OFW na nasugatan dahil sa malakas na lindol. | ulat ni Diane Lear
