Kumpiyansa si House Speaker Martin Romualdez na magtutuloy-tuloy ang pag-angat ng ekonomiya ng Pilipinas sa ilalim ng liderato ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
Ito ang reaksyon ng House leader kasunod ng desisyon ng Development and Budget Coordination Committee at the National Economic and Development Authority na itaas ang growth target ngayong taon sa 6 hanggang 7 percent mula sa 6.5- hanggang7.5 percent.
“I am confident that we can hit at least the lowest end of the target range because the economic policies and measures the President and Congress have taken and pursued are keeping us on the right track,” ani Romualdez
Katunayan, naniniwala si Romualdez na kaya pa itong higitan ng Pilipinas kung maisakatuparan ang economic Charter reforms.
Sabi pa nya na kung lumago ang Pilipinas ng 6 percent ngayong taon ay tayo pa rin ang maituturing na fastest growing economies sa Asia-Pacific region.
“Coming from 5.6 percent, it should not be difficult for us to hit at least 6 percent this year. Our economy has been steadily expanding since President Marcos assumed office,” giit ng House Speaker
Ang maaari lang aniya na makapigil sa pag lago na ito ay ang epekto ng tag tuyot lalo na sa agrikultura at food production.
Kaya naman apela nito sa Department of Agriculture, Department of Agrarian Reform, National Irrigation Administration, at local government units (LGUs) na agad tulungan ang farming sector.
