Inihayag ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) na maaaring makapag-avail ng mga benepisyo ang mga pasyenteng may pertussis o whooping cough.

Sa isang pulong balitaan, sinabi ni PhilHealth President at CEO Emmanuel Ledesma Jr., na aabot sa P13,000 hanggang P19,000 ang benepisyo.

Kabilang din dito ang Konsulta Package at mga gamot gaya ng ilang antibiotic laban sa pertussis.

Sakali namang lumala at maging pneumonia ang sakit, sinabi ni Ledesma na maaaring makapag-avail ng benepisyo na aabot sa P90,000.

Kaugnay nito, hinikayat ng opisyal ang publiko na magpatingin sa doktor kung makakaramdam ng sintomas ng pertussis tulad ng lagnat, sipon, at ubo.

Gayundin, ang pagsunod sa mga safety measure gaya ng paghuhugas ng kamay para maiwasan na kumalat ang sakit lalo na sa mga bata.

Batay sa datos ng Department of Health, umabot na sa mahigit 800 ang kaso ng pertussis sa buong bansa kung saan karamihan sa mga nahahawa ay mga sanggol. | ulat ni Diane Lear
