Nagbabala si AnaKalusugan party-list Rep. Ray Reyes sa pagtaas ng mga heat-related na sakit kasunod na rin ng patuloy na mataas na temperaturang naitatala ng PAGASA.
Kaya naman payo nito sa publiko ang ibayong pag-iingat lalo na sa epekto ng mainit na panahon sa kalusugan ng bawat isa.
“Safety is of paramount importance and extreme caution should be taken during these temperature surges. Maging alerto din po tayo lalo na kapag nakaranas ng mga sintomas ng mga sakit na may kinalaman sa mainit na panahon,” ani Reyes.
Sabi ng kinatawan na ‘preventable’ o maaaring maiwasan ang mga sakit sa pamamagitan ng paglimita sa pananatili sa labas habang tirik ang araw, pag-inom ng maraming tubig at iwasan ang pag-inom ng tsaa, kape, soda at alak.
Nanawagan din ito sa mga employer na tumalima sa direktiba ng Department of Labor and Employment na protektahan ang kanilang mga empleyado at tauhan mula sa matinding init sa pamamagitan ng pagbawas sa heat exposure, sapat na ventilation at heat insulation sa lugar ng paggawa, pag-adjust sa mga rest break, paggamit ng personal protective equipment, at access para sa inumin.
“Sundin po sana natin ang advisory na ito para sa kapakanan ng ating mga empleyado, lalo na iyong mga nasa manual labor na kumakayod sa labas ng mga opisina,” dagdag ni Reyes. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
