Sen. Binay, hinimok ang mga lokal na pamahalaan na tulungan at suportahan ang street food sector sa bansa

Hinimok ni Senate Committee on Tourism Chairperson Senator Nancy Binay ang mga opisyal ng lokal na pamahalaan na tumulong sa pagpapalakas ng turismo sa Pilipinas, sa pamamagitan ng pagpapataas ng kalidad ng street food experience para sa mga lokal at dayuhang turista.

Ito lalo na aniya’t mas nakikilala na ang ating local food culture dahil sa food vlogs at social media.

Pinunto ni Binay ang untapped potential ng street food culture sa bansa.

Dahil dito, dapat aniyang sinusuportahan ang mga maliliit na mga nagtitinda sa mga kalye dahil bahagi rin sila ng lokal na ekonomiya.

Kabilang sa mga minumungkahi ng senator na maaaring gawin ng mga LGU ay ang pagtukoy ng mga vending at non-vending zones, para maayos din ang daloy ng tao at trapiko–lalo na ngayong buhay-na-buhay ang street food adventure.

Sa tulong rin aniya nito ay matitiyak na magkakaroon ng disente, malinis at ligtas na pwesto ang mga street food vendor.

Ipinaliwanag ni Binay, na ang food tourism ay nagsisilbi ring malakas na marketing tool sa paghubog ng imahe ng isang lungsod o lokalidad. Dinagdag rin ng mambabatas, na maaaring tumulong ang mga LGU sa usapin ng training, sanitation at safety practices, food preparation at tamang pag-serve ng mga pagkain para mapataas ang kalidad ng street food experience. | ulat ni Nimfa Asuncion
