Aabot na sa ₱11-million ang naipaabot na tulong ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI sa mga pamilyang nakaramdam ng epekto ng El Niño phenomenon sa rehiyon.
Ito ay sa ilalim ng Early Recovery and Rehabilitation Section (ERRS) of Disaster Response Management Division.
Ayon sa DSWD, ang pondong ito ay nagamit sa pagpapatupad ng Food For Work at Food for Training Programs sa ilang munisipalidad sa Western Visayas.
Sa tala nito, nasa ₱3.1-milyong halaga ng assistance o 5,460 Family Food Packs ang naipamahagi sa mga benepisyaryo sa ilalim ng Food for Training, habang aabot naman sa ₱7.9-million o katumbas ng 11,893 Family Food Packs ang naihatid sa mga benepisyaryo ng Food for Work.
