Nakatakdang pangunahan ngayong araw ni Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian ang inagurasyon ng 14 na pinakabagong Disaster Response Station Hub ng ahensya na Mobile Command Center (MCC).
Laman ng bawat Mobile Command Center ang state-of-the art information and communications technology (ICT) equipment, na magsisilbing epektibong ugnayan sa pakikipagkomunikasyon sa panahon ng kalamidad o emergency operations.
Layon ng naturang equipment na magbigay ng link ng komunikasyon sa mga disaster-stricken area patungo sa Regional Operations Center (ROC), Disaster Response Command Center (DRCC), o Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (RDRRMC).
Ayon kay DSWD Assistant Secretary for Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG) at Spokesperson Irene Dumlao, sa tulong nito, inaasahang magkakaroon ng mas mabilis na emergency telecommunications na kailangan upang suportahan ang pagresponde sa panahon ng kalamidad.
“The MCCs use satellite technology managed by DSWD Deployment teams. Through the system, our teams will be able to provide uninterrupted critical information for humanitarian response efforts and disaster response operations in the disaster-stricken area,”sabi ni ASec. Dumlao.
Matapos naman ang gaganaping Blessing at Send Off Ceremony, ang mga nasabing MCC vans ay nakatakda ng i-deploy sa 14 na DSWD Field Offices sa bansa. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
