Congressional mission, iminungkahi ang selective deployment ng OFW sa Libya

Iminungkahi ng Congressional Mission na nagtungo sa Libya sa pangunguna ni House Committee on Overseas Workers Affairs Chair Ron Salo, ang pagkakaroon ng selective deployment ng mga OFW sa naturang bansa.

Batay sa resulta ng naging pulong ng Congressional mission sa mga opisyal at employers sa Libya, malaki ang demand para sa Filipino Professionals doon.

Mismong ang mga OFW at ang ating Philippine Embassy doon ay suportado ang pagpapahintulot muli ng deployment ng migrant workers partikular na sa sektor ng healthcare, oil and gas, at edukasyon.

Kaya naman inirekomenda nila ang pagkakaroon ng reassessment ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) at Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) ng political at security situation sa naturang bansa, para sa muling pagpapadala ng mga manggagawa doon.

Kasama rin sa mungkahi ng Congressional mission ang negosasyon na mabawasan o alisin na ang mga fee o bayaring sinisingil sa mga OFW doon.

Dapat na rin anilang ikonsidera ng DMW ang pagtatag ng permanenteng Migrant Workers Office o MWO sa Libya at ang pagpasok sa isang bilateral labor agreement.

Ang naturang mga rekomendasyon ay naipadala na sa tanggapan ng House Speaker at bibigyan rin ang DMW.
