Dinayo ng People’s Caravan ng National Housing Authority (NHA) ang Visayas region at nag-abot ng tulong sa mga benepisyaryong indibidwal.
Mahigit 1,000 Yolanda housing beneficiaries mula sa Banate People’s Village Site 1, 2 at 3 ang kabilang sa mga benepisyaryo ng kauna-unahang caravan.
Ayon kay NHA General Manager Joeben Tai, ang programang ito ay epektibong nagdala ng iba’t ibang serbisyo ng gobyerno tulad ng medikal, scholarship, trabaho, abot-kayang produktong agrikultura, libreng gabay sa mga usaping ligal at iba pa.
Alinsunod sa pangako ng NHA na isulong ang isang progresibong komunidad tungo sa Bagong Pilipinas, layunin ng People’s Caravan na maihatid ang mga nasabing serbisyo sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa.
Kabilang sa participating agencies ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Department of Health (DOH)-Western Visayas, Philippine National Police (PNP) at Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), Department of Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Agriculture (DA), Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI),
Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Land Transportation Office (LTO) at iba pa.
Nag-alok din ng kanilang serbisyo ang National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Social Security System (SSS) at Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
Matatandaang inilunsad ang unang service caravan sa Villa de Adelaida Housing Project sa Brgy. Halang, Naic, Cavite, at sinundan ng sa Pandi, Bulacan; Zamboanga City, Zamboanga; at kamakailan lang ay ang sa Baras, Rizal. | ulat ni Rey Ferrer
