Mahigpit pa ring tinututukan ng Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) ang sitwasyon sa bahagi ng West Sumatra sa Indonesia bunsod ng ulat hinggil sa malawakang pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa dulot ng walang patid na pag-ulan doon.

Gayunman, iniulat ng DMW na walang Pilipino ang naapektuhan sa nabanggit na kalamidad na nangyari buhat pa nitong weekend.

Ayon sa DMW, nakikipag-ugnayan ang kanilang Migrant Workers Office sa Singapore sa Embahada ng Pilipinas sa Jakarta gayundin sa Pinoy community doon para bantayan ang sitwasyon.

Batay sa datos ng Embahada ng Pilipinas sa Jakarta, aabot sa 199 Overseas Filipino Workers at isang non -worker ang nakatira sa apektadong lalawigan.

Habang nasa kabuuang 6,087 naman ang bilang ng mga Pilipinong naninirahan at nagtatrabaho sa Indonesia.

Nagpapatuloy naman ang isinasagawang search and rescue operations ng National Disaster Management Agency ng Indonesia sa mga napaulat na nawawala.

Sa ngayon, pumalo na sa 40 ang bilang ng mga kumpirmadong nasawi dulot ng kalamidad sa Indonesia at ipinaabot ng DMW ang kanilang pakikiramay sa pamilya ng mga nasawi.  | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
