Nasa 400,000 license cards, natanggap na ng pamahalaan

Dumating ngayong araw (May 7) sa tanggapan ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) ang karagdagang 400,000 license card.

Sa Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon, sinabi ni LTO Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza na sa kasalukuyan nasa 2.4 million na ang kabuuang bilang ng mga license card na natanggap na ng pamahalaan.

Mayroon pa aniyang natitirang 800,000 na inaasahang maidi-deliver sa susunod na dalawang linggo.

Sabi ng opisyal, bukod pa dito ang 6.5 million cards. Kaya’t kung supply lamang ang pag-uusapan, mayroon nang sapat na license cards ang bansa para sa taong ito.

Para naman sa plaka, patuloy aniya ang pag-manufacture dito o 40,000 to 50,000 kada araw.

“On top of that, mayroon pa tayong mga 6.5 million cards ‘no. So, we’re good as far as supply side is concerned, we’re good until the end of the year. The same is true with plates – we continue to manufacture around 40,000 to 50,000 plates a day. Ang lahat ng machines ho natin tumatakbo including po robot machines.” —Mendoza.

Ang nakikita aniya nilang hamon sa usaping ito, ay ang mga car dealer na hindi naman accredited ng LTO, na hindi maaaring humingi ng plaka sa gobyerno.

“Siguro ang balakid natin, we just discovered today, again, mayroong mga dealers tayo na hindi accredited sa LTO. Importante siguro sa ating mamamayan, kapag bumibili kayo ng sasakyan itanong ninyo sa dealer kung accredited sila sa LTO, kasi kung hindi po sila accredited hindi sila puwedeng humingi ng plaka sa amin – kaya iyon ang nakita namin.” —Mendoza. | ulat ni Racquel Bayan
