Pagkakabilang ng Pilipinas sa ‘whitelist’ ng Int’l Maritime Origanization, pagkilala sa husay at galing ng Pinoy seafarers — DMW

Welcome sa Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) ang pagkakabilang ng Pilipinas sa “whitelist” ng International Maritime Origanization (IMO).

Ayon sa DMW, maituturing anila itong isang malaking pagkilala sa galing ng mga Pilipinong mandaragat.

Ang pagkakabilang anila sa “whitelist” ay patunay ng pagsunod ng Pilipinas sa pandaigdigang batayan na itinatadhana sa Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping (STCW) convention.

Sa kaniyang pahayag, sinabi ni DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac na hinahangaan nila ang galing, gayundin sa abilidad ng mga Pilipinong mandaragat na aniya’y mga bagong bayani na naglalayag sa karagatan.

Binigyang-diin pa ng kalihim na itinuturing din ang mga Pinoy seafarer na “worlds prefered crew” kung saan, nasa 30 porsyento ng tinatawag na maritime workforce ay pawang mga Pilipino.  | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
