Welcome sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ang pag-apruba ng House Committee on Social Services sa panukala upang magkaroon ng batas para sa pagbibigay ng food stamp ng gobyerno sa mga mahihirap na pamilya.
Ayon kay DSWD Assistant Secretary for Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG) Irene Dumlao, malaking bagay ang suporta ng Kamara sa programa ng ahensya na tumutugon sa kahirapan.
“The Department would like to express our gratitude to the House Committee on Social Services for supporting our government’s flagship program on eradicating involuntary hunger among our kababayans,” ani DSWD Asec. Dumlao.
Dagdag pa nito, ang pag-apruba sa panukala ay nagpapakita ng commitment ng gobyerno tungo sa food security. “The DSWD views the approval of this bill as a testament to the government’s commitment to fostering food security and uplifting the lives of the most vulnerable sectors of society.”
Sa tulong ng panukala, matitiyak aniya ang pangmatagalang serbisyo nito at dagdag na pondo para sa FSP.
“These consolidated bills collectively seek to fortify the Food Stamp Program, marking a significant step towards alleviating hunger in our communities. We, in the DSWD, remain steadfast in the enactment of meaningful reforms that resonate with the principles of social justice and inclusivity,” pahayag ni Dumlao.
Sa ilalim ng FSP, nilalayong labanan ang involuntary hunger sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng access sa monetary-based assistance na kung saan ang mga taong kwalipikado ay tatanggap ng ₱3,000 na halaga ng kredito para sa pagkain. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
