Pagsunod ng diplomats sa batas, binigyang diin ng DFA

Kasabay ng pagbibigay ng babala ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) sa publiko hinggil sa pinalutang na audio recording ng Tsina sa isang opisyal ng militar ay binigyang-diin din ng DFA ang responsibilidad ng mga diplomat, na sumunod sa batas ng mga bansa kung saan ang ito nakadistino.

Matatandaang inihayag ng Chinese Embassy sa Maynila na maglalabas umano sila ng transcript at recording ng phone call conversation sa pagitan ng isang Chinese diplomat at ni AFP Western Command Commander Vice Admiral Alberto Carlos.

Ayon sa DFA, ang naturang hakbang ay pawang taktika lamang ng nasabing bansa na layuning magsimula ng alitan at kalituhan sa pagitan ng mga gobyerno at ng mga Pilipinas.

Dahil dito ay nagpaalala ang DFA, na sumusunod dapat sa 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations ang lahat ng diplomats sa alin mang bansa na nagmamandato sa mga ito, na irespeto ang batas at regulasyon ng bansa na kanilang kinaroroonan.
