Pilipinas, nanawagan sa ADB na dagdagan ang suporta sa mga infra programs ng bansa

Hiniling ng Department of Finance (DOF) sa Asian Development Bank (ADB) na dagdagan ang kanilang suporta sa physical at digital infrastructure and capacity building ng mga micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Ginawa ng DOF ang pahayag sa katatapos lamang na ADB annual meeting na iprinisita ni Finance Undersecretary Joven Balbosa na ginanap sa bansang  Georgia.

Kabilang sa mga binalangkas na rekomendasyon ng gobyerno sa ADB board ay naka-focus sa digitalization, infrastructure development, human capital enhancement, at MSMEs.

Nakatakda naman itong iendorso ng ADB board upang maisama sa 2024-2029 Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) for the  Philippines.

Umaasa ang Kagawaran ng Pananalapi na susuportahan ito ang multilateral institution  upang umunlad ang bansa at magamit sa  pagtugon sa mga kakulangan at hamon ng global development landscape.

Base sa datos, as of December 31, 2023, ang ADB ang second-largest official development assistance (ODA) partner ng Pilipinas na nagkakahalaga ng  $11.40-billion dollars.  | ulat ni Melany Valdoz Reyes
