Personal na ipinaabot ni Speaker Martin Romualdez ang kaniyang pagbati at suporta sa mga Pilipinong atleta na sasabak sa Paris Olympics na gaganapin sa July 26 hanggang August 11 ngayong taon.
Kasunod ito ng courtesy call ng mga atleta sa pangunguna nina Samahang Weightlifting ng Pilipinas President Monico Puentevella, John Ceniza, Eireen Ando at Vanessa Sarno, na kapwa lalaban sa weightlifting, at si Joanie Delgaco na kinatawan ng Pilipinas sa rowing.
Nagpasalamat si Romualdez sa mga atleta sa karangalang ibinigay nila sa bansa gayundin ay kinilala ang kanilang dedikasyon, katatagan at mga napagtagumpayan.
“Each one of you has worked so hard and faced many challenges to get to where you are. You’ve shown great dedication and strength, and you carried our flag with pride on the world stage. Your stories inspire us all,” ani Romualdez.
Kasabay nito ay pinagkalooban ng House leader ang kada Pinoy Olympians ng financial assistance na nagkakahalaga ng ₱500,000.
Aniya, hindi lang ito basta reward, bagkus ay pagsiguro na nakasuporta ang pamahalaan sa kanilang tagumpay.

You have shown that with passion and perseverance, we can achieve greatness. You are a shining example for the next generation of athletes and all of us,” sabi ng House Speaker
