Inapurbahan ng National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board, ngayong araw (May 15) ang ₱30.56 billion Infrastructure Safer and Resilient Schools (ISRS) Project, na kayang isailalim sa rehabilitasyon at reconstruction ang school facilities sa labas ng Metro Manila na napinsala ng mga kalamidad.
Ang proyektong ito ay popondohan ng official development assistance (ODA) loan mula sa World Bank-International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, na ipatutupad naman ng Department of Education (DepEd) at Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
“Of the ₱30.56 billion total project cost, ₱27.50 billion will come from loan proceeds while the PhP3.06 billion will be counterpart fund from the national government.” -PCO.
Ipatutupad ang proyektong ito simula 2025 to 2029, na kabibilangan ng mga pagsasaayos, retrofitting, at reconstruction ng school facilities na napinsala ng mga kalamidad simula 2019 hanggang 2023.
Inaasahan na magbi-benepisyo rito ang higit 1,000 paaralan, nasa 4,000 school buildings, higit 13,000 classrooms, at higit 700,000 na mag-aaral.
“Among the project components include Relatively Simple Works for School Infrastructure Recovery and Operations and Maintenance with a ₱9.65 billion allocation and Relatively Complex Works for School Infrastructure Recovery with ₱19.81 billion budget.” -PCO.
Ilan lamang sa bahagi nito ang Project Management, Monitoring, at Evaluation na mayroong ₱1.1 billion budget allocation.
Layon ng proyektong ito na magtayo ng mas matatag na silid-paaralan na handa sa mga hinaharap na sakuna, na siyang sisiguro sa pagpapatuloy ng educational system at pagbawas sa pagkaantala sa pagkatuto ng mga bata.
