Anti-Discrimination bill, mas mataas ang tiyansang makapasa sa Senado ngayong taon – SP Chiz Escudero

Naniniwala si Senate President Chiz Escudero na magiging mas mataas ang tiyansa na makapasa na ngayong taong ito ang Anti-Discrimination bill.

Ito ang ipinunto ng Senate President bilang tugon sa panawagn ng United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) na aprubahan na ang SOGIESC bill.

Paglilinaw ni Escudero, magkaiba ang Anti-Discrimination bill mula sa SOGIESC (sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, sexual characteristics) bill.

Ayon kasi sa ilang mga senador, ang Anti-Discrimination bill ay mas holistic at mabebenepisyuhan ang lahat ng marginalized groups hindi lang ang LGBTQIA+ community.

Sa Senado, nananatiling nakabinbin sa Committee on Rules ang naturang panukala matapos itong ibalik doon mula sa Committee on Women.

Sinabi rin ni Escudero, na hangga’t hindi nagiging bukas ang nagsusulong ng SOGIE bill sa mga amyenda ay patuloy rin itong mahihirapang makausad sa Mataas na Kapulungan. | ulat ni Nimfa Asuncion
