DMW, lumagda sa 2 kasunduan na susuporta sa pangangailangan ng OFWs

Muling pinagtibay ng Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) ang kanilang pangako na suportahan ang mga Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW).

Sa pamamagitan ng dalawang cooperative arrangements, lumagda ang DMW sa magkahiwalay na kasunduan sa National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCOO) at Development Action for Women Network (DAWN).

Pinangunahan ni Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac at mga kinatawan ng NATCOO at DAWN ang paglagda sa kasunduan.

Ayon kay Cacdac, layon ng kasunduan na mabigay ng “employment at livelihood opportunities” para sa mga OFW.

Samantala, plano naman ng NATCOO at DAWN na turuan ang mga OFW ng “financial literacy” upang matutunan nila ang tamang pag-iipon at pamumuhunan.

Matatandaang, kahapon ay nakipagkasundo rin ang DMW sa Department of Agriculture upang isulong ang agribusiness para sa mga OFW. | ulat ni Diane Lear
