JICA, muling iginiit ang kanilang suporta upang makamit ang maritime security

Muling iginiit ng Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) ang kanilang suporta sa Pilipinas upang matiyak ang maritime security sa rehiyon.

Ito ang inilalahad ng ilang senior officials ng JICA sa pulong nila ni Finance Secretary Ralph Recto na nasa Tokyo para sa Philippine Economic Briefing.

Ayon sa JICA, suportado nila ang Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) para sa hangad na kapayapaan at seguridad sa rehiyon.

Kamakailan lumagda ang JICA at Department of Finance ng kasunduan para sa loan agreement na nagkakahalaga ng JPY64,380 million para sa Maritime Safety Capacity Improvement project, Phase 3.

Layon nitong paghusayin ang kapasidad ng PCG upang agad na rumesponde sa offshore at coastal maritime incidents sa pamamagitan ng limang bagong multi-role response vessel.

Sinabi rin ng JICA kay Sec. Recto ang kanilang patuloy na suporta para sa kaunlaran ng Bangsamoro Autonomous region in Muslim Mindanao. | ulat ni Melany Valdoz Reyes
