MERALCO, nagbabala matapos tumaas ang insidente ng pagnanakaw ng metro ng kuryente

Nagbabala ang Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) sa mga magnanakaw ng metro ng kuryente na may kalalagyan sila dahil sa kanilang aktibidad.

Ito ang inihayag ng Power distributor matapos makapagtala ng tumataas na kaso ng pagnanakaw ng metro ng kuryente.

Ayon kay MERALCO Vice President for Corporate Communications Joe Zaldarriaga, nakatatanggap sila ng sumbong na ibinibenta online ang mga nakaw na metro maging ng kable ng kuryente.

Batay sa kanilang datos, aabot sa mahigit 1,500 metro ng kuryente ang ninanakaw sa nakalipas na isang taon na mas mataas ng 65 porsyento o 969 kaso ng pagnanakaw ng metro na kanilang naitala noong 2022.

Para naman sa taong ito, inihayag ng MERALCO na aabot sa 865 na mga metro ng kuryente ang ninakaw mula Enero hanggang Mayo.

Sakaling mahuli at mapatunayang nagnanakaw ng metro ng kuryente, sinabi ng MERALCO na mahaharap sila sa hanggang 12 taong pagkakakulong at multa mula ₱50,000 hanggang ₱100,000. | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
