Mga magsasaka ng Isabela, pinagkalooban ng solar pumps

Pinangunahan ni Speaker Martin Romualdez ang pamamahagi ng 17 solar pumps sa mga magsasaka ng Isabela na isa sa mga nangungunang probinsya pagdating sa produksyon ng bigas at mais.

Kasama ni Romualdez ang ilan sa opisyal ng National Irrigation Administration (NIA) at si Isabela Governor Rodito Albano, na kasama rin sa pagsaksi ng inagurasyon ng mas malaking solar pump project sa pangunguna naman ni Panguong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

Binigyang diin ng lider ng Kamara ang kahalagahan ng irigayon upang mapalakas ang produksyon ng agri products hindi lang sa Isabela ngunit maging sa ibang panig ng bansa.

“We have to help our farmers with irrigation and other farm inputs like fertilizer and seeds so they can increase their produce. They should aim to double it,” sabi ng House Speaker.

Malaking bagay aniya ang solar pumps na alternatibong pagkukunan ng patubig upang maisakatuparan ang target ng administrasyon na maging food self-sufficient ang bansa.

Bagay na makakatulong din aniya sa pagpapababa ng inflation.

“This means that they can have at least two crops a year. That’s double their harvest if they plant their crop only during the rainy days, which is really the case in farming areas that do not have irrigation,” dagdag niya.

“That would also ease rice and food inflation, resulting in lower prices for the staple and other agricultural products for the benefit of all Filipinos,” sabi pa ni Romualdez.

Nangako rin ito na ikokonsidera ng Kongreso ang dagdag na pondo para sa solar irrigation oras na talakayin ang panukalang 2025 national budget. | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
