Mariing kinondena ni Surigao del Norte Representative Robert Ace Barbers ang ginawang pag-atake ng China at pagharang sa suplay na para sana sa mga sundalo sa BRP Sierra Madre.
Tinawag ni Barbers na ‘barbaric’ ang ginawang aksyon ng China at wala aniyang lugar sa isang sibilisadong mundo.
“The latest uncalled for barbaric and inhumane attacks by the trespassers that are all caught on video deserves the highest condemnation from the international community. It did not only show unprovoked aggression, it placed the lives of our people in grave danger. It was worse than the illegal water cannon aggression because it was almost like a hand-to-hand combat with our personnel scrambling to get back the air-dropped supplies for the Sierra Madre that were snatched by the Chinese, unmindful of their own safety”, sabi ni Barbers.
Sabi pa ni Barbers na maliban sa note verbale, dapat ay maghain din ang mga angkop na ahensya ng pamahalaan ng criminal complaint sa nararapat na international body lalo na at ginawa ito ng China sa loob mismo ng ating teritoryo.
“I strongly urge the President through the appropriate departments and agencies to initiate the filing of criminal complaints before the international bodies with jurisdiction over such criminal behavior, especially committed within our internationally recognized territory. We should not let this pass”, dagdag ng kongresista.
Dapat naman bigyang pagkilala ani Barbers ang mga Pilipinong handang magbuwis ng buhay para lang maihatid ang suplay ng pagkain sa BRP Sierra Madre.
